Job summary

Merritt Precision is seeking a Mill and Plug Detailing Technician to support the fabrication and finishing of composite plugs and molds in Merritt Island, FL. You will perform fiberglass application, sanding, and surface preparation while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and following technical instructions.

The role requires hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, strong attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Interpret all work-related documents.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Experience making optimal decisions in a manufacturing environment.
• Work effectively as an individual or with a team.
• Experience with composites preferred.
• Perform tasks under time constraints.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with hand tools such as rollers, chop gun, sanders, and scissors.

Responsibilities

• Operate a lamination chop gun.
• Apply spray putty to plugs.
• Roll fiberglass after application.
• Block sand plugs (dry and wet sand).
• Use various hand tools as needed.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Inspect all parts to ensure completeness and quality.
• Work in a team environment.
• Cross-train within the department as needed.
• Follow instructions of Manager/Supervisor/Lead.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
• Comply with OSHA and safety procedures.
