Job summary

Merritt Precision is seeking a Mill and Plug Detailing Technician to support the fabrication and finishing of composite plugs and molds in Merritt Island, FL. You will perform fiberglass application, sanding, and surface preparation while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and following technical instructions.

The role requires hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, strong attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate a lamination chop gun.
• Apply spray putty to plugs.
• Roll fiberglass after application.
• Block sand plugs (dry and wet sand).
• Use various hand tools as needed.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Inspect all parts to ensure completeness and quality.
• Work in a team environment.
• Cross-train within the department as needed.
• Follow instructions of Manager/Supervisor/Lead.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
• Comply with OSHA and safety procedures.

Job Overview

The Mill and Plug Detailing Technician plays a critical role in the production and finishing of high-quality composite plugs and molds. The role involves hands‑on fabrication tasks such as fiberglass application, sanding, and surface preparation to meet strict quality standards. Working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, the technician must maintain a clean, safe workspace, collaborate with team members, and follow technical instructions.
