Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Composite Technician in Colorado Springs to mold and bond composite, metal, or laminate parts into finished products. The role sits in the Acusil production department, focusing on quality and on-time delivery while following strict safety and process guidelines.

You will perform layup, bonding, curing, finishing, inspection, and documentation, operating vacuum systems and ovens, and reading detailed specs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Dexterity for fine detailed work.
• Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
• Microsoft Suite experience.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform composite manufacturing operations, including material preparation, layup, molding, bonding, curing, finishing, and assembly in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Interpret and follow detailed work instructions,manufacturing routers, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate production of components.
• Prepare, measure, cut, and lay out composite materials and other substrates to meet dimensional and quality requirements.
• Apply bonding agents and adhesives using approved techniques and processes.
• Set up, operate, and monitor vacuum systems, industrial ovens, and other specialized manufacturing equipment to complete bonding and curing processes.
• Monitor and control critical manufacturing parameters, including temperature, pressure, vacuum levels, and cure times, to ensure compliance with process requirements.
• Utilize calibrated measuring instruments, tools, and equipment to perform manufacturing operations and verify product conformity.
• Perform sanding, trimming, surface preparation, and finishing operations to meet specified requirements.
• Inspect in-process and completed components for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to quality standards.
• Identify and communicate material defects, equipment issues, and nonconforming products to appropriate personnel.
• Complete and maintain accurate production documentation, including manufacturing routers, inspection records, material traceability, and process verification.
• Follow established material handling, storage, shelf-life, and chemical safety requirements to maintain product integrity and workplace safety.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to perform multiple manufacturing operations while maintaining quality and productivity expectations.
• Assist with additional production activities and cross-training opportunities as needed to support operational requirements.
• Coordinate with production leadership and team members to support manufacturing priorities, production schedules, and on-time delivery commitments.
