Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or laboratory setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers and SCBC personnel.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to function autonomously in a laboratory setting, showing initiative and dependability.
  • Physical ability to stand and perform manual tasks, with occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • On-the-job training/orientation completed within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare blood components following standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in quality control functions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Adhere to SCBC/department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support other team members in the laboratory and Hospital Services, promoting positive customer relations and repeat business.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Lab Team leader, prepare blood components from donor blood in accordance with FDA and AABB guidelines to ensure the safety of blood products for patient use and further manufacturing.
