Role Description

The Compliance Supervisor (engineer) is a full-time, on-site role based in Yakima, WA. This position oversees compliance activities related to air pollution control from stationary sources, including reviewing permits, evaluating emission data, and performing regulatory audits and inspections. The role includes supervising and mentoring compliance staff, coordinating workload and priorities, and providing technical guidance on air quality regulations and engineering controls. The Compliance Supervisor prepares reports, supports enforcement actions, and communicates findings to management, facilities, and stakeholders. The position also contributes to training programs, process improvements, and collaboration with state and federal agencies to maintain consistent and effective compliance practices.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, performance oversight, and staff mentoring.
• Experience with regulatory compliance related to air quality or environmental regulations.
• Advanced analytical skills for interpreting technical data, emission reports, and engineering information.
• Background in training, including developing and delivering compliance or technical training for staff and stakeholders.
• Auditing skills for conducting inspections, compliance reviews, and documenting findings.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (environmental, chemical, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of air pollution control technologies and environmental permitting processes.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with technical software, data analysis tools, and standard office applications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct site visits as required.
