The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Office of Inspector General in Helena.
The PERM/IPV/MEQC section performs federally mandated Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) reviews of the Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs. The section also conducts federally mandated investigations of allegations of Intentional Program Violations (IPVs) in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, Medicaid/CHIP program, and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) program. Performs federally mandated Medicaid/CHIP eligibility reviews. The PERM/IPV/MEQC Section Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing program policy, establishing section goals, objectives, priorities, statistical reporting, monitoring, and ensuring performance standards are maintained by staff. This position is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and disciplining a staff of 9.

Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state rules.
Ability to apply problem solving, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and program policy analysis techniques to a broad range of complex issues and situations and develop action plans.
Knowledge of personnel management and supervision.
Ability to clearly express ideas, concepts, and interpret technical information and findings to varied audiences through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, public administration, human services, or social sciences.
Five or more years of job-related experience in determinations, review of determinations or investigations of eligibility of Public Assistance programs, management, accounting and financial management, personnel management, or legal field.
Two years of supervisory experience.
Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
