This full-time role requires 2–5 years in affordable housing compliance and a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of affordable housing compliance experience preferred
• High School diploma/GED required; college degree or equivalent preferred
• Customer Service experience required
• Familiarity with Fair Housing laws required
• Must possess basic mathematical skills
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Proficient in speaking Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Comply with property regulatory agreements and rules from HUD, TCAC, HCID/LAHD
• Maintain resident files and conduct income certifications per property guidelines
• Complete move-in certifications and recertifications with accurate calculations and filings
• Prepare responses for internal and external auditors by deadlines
• Support property management duties including marketing, leasing and vacancy management to sustain 100% occupancy
• Maintain resident relations in compliance with Occupancy and Fair Housing guidelines

We are hiring an onsite Compliance Specialist for WestLA VA Building 701 MacArthur , a 120-unit non-age restricted taxcredit community for Veteran households on the West Los Angeles VANorth Campus, and WestLA VA Building 207 a 60-unit age restricted tax credit communityfor Veteran households in the West Los Angeles VA NorthCampus. The position is full time, on-site, and willassist with maintaining resident files, conducting incomecertifications according to property guidelines, maintaining residentrelations in compliance with Occupancy and Fair Housing guidelines,reviewing month financial reports, marketing and leasing vacancies tomaintain the highest physical and economical occupancy rate.

• Regular full-time schedule is Monday- Friday with flexiblestarting and end times.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensively read and adhere to all property regulatory agreements.
• Comply with all applicable government and funding agencies rulesand regulations (i.e. HUD, TCAC, and HCID/LAHD) and ensure thecompliance of the property and retaining resident files.
• Complete move-in certifications and re-certifications (includinginterview, verification process, calculations, signatures, andfiling) in a timely manner, and in accordance with property programsand TSA requirements.
• Prepare and respond to all internal and external auditors byrequired deadlines.
• Perform, on an interim basis if needed, all property managementduties including but not limited to:
• Complete property required reporting requirements accurately byrequired deadlines.
• Assist the Property Manager with marketing, leasing and vacancypaperwork to maintain a 100% occupancy rate
• Maintaining resident relations in compliance with Occupancy andFair Housing guidelines

Experience and Skills:

Location

• Three (3) to five (5) years of affordable housing (Low IncomeHousing Tax Credit, Section 8, and LAHD programs) complianceexperience preferred or equal experience with proven record of achievement
• High School diploma/GED required. College degree or equivalentcombination of education, training and work experience preferred.

• Familiarity with Fair Housing laws required
• Must possess basic mathematical skills
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Proficient in speaking Spanish preferred
