Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. seeks a Compliance Specialist I to monitor state and local regulations, support license applications, and generate critical compliance reports. This on-site role in Temple, TX, requires a detail-oriented professional with 2+ years in a regulated environment and strong Excel/Word skills.

You will draft regulatory communications, manage filings, and support daily department operations while growing regulatory expertise in a nationwide logistics network.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of business experience, ideally in a regulated environment.
  • Strong Excel and Word proficiency, with attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and research state and local legislation, regulations, and ordinances related to regulated products and assess their business impact.
  • Support the preparation and submission of license applications and renewals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Generate and analyze internal reports to support compliance activities and licensing processes.
  • Prepare electronic filings, including EFT payments, and maintain required documentation.
  • Draft correspondence to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders regarding compliance requirements and product restrictions.
  • Assist with required regulatory reporting, including PACT Act filings and DBA/fictitious name applications.
  • Maintain and audit compliance trackers to ensure accurate recordkeeping and adherence to internal standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to support daily departmental operations and special projects.

This is an on-site position in Temple, TX. Candidates are expected to reside within a 50-mile radius of the office.

What We're Looking For:
Education & Experience-
  • Associate degree or some college preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years of business experience, ideally in a regulated environment
Skills & Qualifications-
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
