Job summary

S&T Bank is seeking a detail‑oriented post‑closing compliance specialist to perform HMDA data validation, post‑close reviews, and documentation control for commercial lending. Responsibilities

  • Perform post-close reviews on loan applications and modifications through data field validation to ensure data integrity for commercial loan documents.
  • Maintain HMDA Loan Applications Register, reviewing loans for HMDA accuracy and validating action codes; enter data in nCino LOS.
  • Determine cause of HMDA errors, track by employee, and communicate findings to the Commercial Loan Post Close Compliance Supervisor while mentoring peers.
  • Reprocess loan applications and modifications with lending personnel and request additional details required by underwriting standards.
  • Conduct pre-audit reviews for underwriting and documentation preparation to ensure compliance with HMDA, RegB, CIP, and CDD monitoring.
  • Validate compliance documentation for withdrawn and declined loan applications and monitor withdrawals to meet timeframes; ensure RegB disclosures when applicable.
  • Collaborate with management to implement regulatory updates across commercial loan documentation operations.
  • Work with the Commercial Loan Funding and Compliance Quality Control Supervisor to ensure quality control and report findings.
  • Obtain proficiency in loan origination software, Microsoft Office Suite, FIS, imaging systems, and related upgrades.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and bank policies/underwriting manuals to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining commercial loan documentation manuals used for training.
  • Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and vendors; work independently and as a team.

Job description

Location: 355 North Fifth Street Indiana, PA 15701Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department)

Responsibilities
  • Perform post‑close reviews on loan applications and modifications through a data field validation process to ensure data integrity for commercial loan documents.
  • Maintain an accurate and complete HMDA Loan Applications Register, reviewing loans for HMDA accuracy, validating action codes for cancelled and denied applications, and entering correct data in nCino LOS.
  • Determine the cause of HMDA errors, track them by employee, and communicate findings to the Commercial Loan Post Close Compliance Supervisor while mentoring peers.
  • Reprocess loan applications and modifications with lending personnel, track relevant information, and request additional details required by underwriting standards in accordance with the bank’s retention policy.
  • Conduct pre‑audit reviews for underwriting and documentation preparation to ensure compliance with HMDA, RegB (joint intent to apply), CIP, and CDD monitoring, and provide training recommendations.
  • Validate compliance documentation for withdrawn and declined loan applications and monitor loan withdrawals to meet compliance timeframes. Ensure appraisal disclosure letters (RegB) are produced when applicable.
  • Collaborate with management to implement regulatory updates across commercial loan documentation operations.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Loan Funding and Compliance Quality Control Supervisor and lending management to ensure consistent quality control, report errors and findings, recommend actions to improve processes, and prepare quality‑control reports.
  • Obtain and sustain proficiency in loan origination software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), core operating system (FIS), imaging systems, and related software upgrades.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and the bank’s corporate and lending policies/underwriting manuals to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining commercial loan documentation manuals used as training and reference materials.
  • Maintain positive, productive relationships with coworkers and third‑party vendors; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as a team player.
