Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Compliance Packager Coordinator to manage compliance packaged medications and coordinate with patients and prescribers. The role ensures enrollment, reconciliation, and ongoing management across clinics while supporting cross-coverage and regulatory compliance.

You will work hybrid in Reading, PA, with responsibilities spanning prescription processing, insurance verification, and collaboration with providers to optimize service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years directly related pharmacy experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • PTCB or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, written and oral.
  • Experience with pharmacy software and EHR.

Responsibilities

  • Master EMR and dispensing software for prescription processing.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers.
  • Verify insurance coverage and investigate benefits.
  • Complete prior authorization documentation and submission.

Job Details

The Compliance Packager Coordinator will facilitate operational management of patients receiving compliance packaged medications across the health system. The Compliance Packager Coordinator works closely with patients and prescribers to arrange compliance packaged medications according to institutional policy and procedure. Consults with patients and providers to ensure appropriate enrollment, reconciliation, synchronization, and ongoing management of compliance packages. Assists the Compliance Packager Clinical Pharmacist in handling complex problem resolution, including communication to provider offices. Supports medication access and provider office communications as needed to grow the service line. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements. Cross coverage to support other pharmacy team members, including onsite duties, may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Prescription Processing: Master navigation of EMR and dispensing software system.
  • Client Support: Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals by answering inquiries, addressing pharmacy-related concerns, and triaging to pharmacist as appropriate. Manage multiple clinics with diverse needs autonomously.
  • Benefits Investigation: Verify patient information and insurance coverage. Work with pharmacy team members and payers to resolve discrepancies and review insurance for affordability.
  • Prior Authorization Completion: Demonstrate expertise with prior authorization process by gathering necessary documentation, completing forms, and communicating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain approval for medications.
  • Communication: Display professionalism in all interactions. Communicate effectively in-person, via telephone, and in other electronic communication. Document pertinent patient information professionally and succinctly in patient chart, as agreed upon.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as liaison between patient, pharmacy, and other healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
  • Training: Participate in training of new staff.
  • Program Continuity: Oversees continuity of pharmacy processes and adherence to clinical and specialty programs and policies. Participate in quality improvement projects, as deemed relevant and approved by manager.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with latest developments in practice area. Participate in training programs and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Education

Requires a minimum of two (2)+ years directly related and progressively responsible pharmacy experience; bachelor's degree program preferred. Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification or comparable state certification is preferred.
