Job summary

Midwest Bank is seeking a Compliance Officer to uphold regulatory standards and support a culture of integrity. You will lead audits, educate teams, and report findings to the Board, ensuring policies align with federal and state regulations.

Ideal candidates bring a degree in finance or banking and at least five years of bank compliance experience, with strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Banking, or related field
• 5+ years bank compliance experience
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards
• Ability to interpret laws and communicate requirements effectively
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal, written, and public speaking skills
• High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software systems
• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and multitasking abilities
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, courteous, and team-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive compliance audits across all departments
• Act as the main contact during external exams
• Prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations for the Board of Directors
• Collaborate with departments to implement and maintain compliance standards
• Train and educate staff on updates or changes to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Report compliance violations to the CEO
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date policies aligned with federal and state regulations
• Resolve compliance-related issues promptly and efficiently
• Ensure adherence to all bank security procedures
• Assist with regulatory and compliance training initiatives
