About The Role:

CBRE is seeking a highly motivated and effective Compliance Manager to advance our global data governance program. This role will focus on ensuring effective, optimized, and legally compliant practices in: Data retention and destruction, Data integrity and quality, and Data literacy and awareness.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong potential for professional growth and leadership in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

This instrumental role will collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts across CBRE’s cybersecurity, data analytics, AI development, legal, and privacy teams to define and drive strategic objectives in data governance and AI compliance. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Data Privacy & Cybersecurity, within the Global Risk, Ethics, and Compliance department.

What You'll Do:

As Compliance Manager, Global Data Governance and AI, you will:

- Manage CBRE’s Data Protection & Governance Working Group, including agenda creation, priority setting, and implementation strategy development.

- Collaborate with legal and business teams to enhance data retention and destruction policies and schedules.

- Assess and monitor compliance with CBRE’s data retention and destruction schedules.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing data retention and destruction controls and drive improvements to mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance.

- Promote adoption of data governance best practices through training and education initiatives.

- Foster a culture of data responsibility and compliance by promoting data literacy and awareness across all levels of the organization.

- Champion innovation in data governance by identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions to address emerging enterprise-level data challenges.

- Support CBRE’s AI compliance program, with a focus on maintaining data and AI inventories and maps to ensure compliance with applicable AI laws and regulations.

- Perform other tasks related to supporting CBRE’s data governance and AI compliance programs as reasonably required.
