Job summary

The Maryland Military Department seeks a Compliance Officer to lead the agency’s Internal Controls Review program, evaluating operations for efficiency and regulation adherence. The role entails policy development, technology-enabled workflows, and investigations into misconduct.

It also oversees MOSH safety compliance and strategic recommendations to prevent waste and mismanagement. The ideal candidate has strong experience in internal controls, risk assessment, and policy implementation to

Qualifications

Six years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
Substitution options: 30 college credits per year of experience (up to 4 years).
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related experience may substitute the required experience.
Master’s degree may substitute five years of the required experience.
U.S. Armed Forces experience involving staff work related to administration, or policy procedures, may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Develop and recommend new standards, methods of operation, and technology to accomplish the agency mission.
Conduct investigations on employee misconduct, waste, fraud, and abuse.
Conduct safety inspections for MOSH compliance and report findings to senior management.
