Job summary

OWL Services in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Compliance Fuel Technician to test and inspect fuel systems at various facilities. The role requires hands-on mechanical work, documentation of results, and regular travel with overnight stays.

The position offers full-time employment with overtime, a $18.00/hour base pay plus weekly per diem and travel benefits. DOT physical and drug screening are provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with comfort using hand tools and basic testing devices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly to customers.
• Physically capable of lifting 10–50 lbs and performing kneeling, bending and standing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform fuel containment, equipment integrity, and leak-detection testing.
• Identify leaks and compliance issues to prevent failures.
• Complete petroleum support work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Document test results using basic technology tools.
• Communicate findings and corrective procedures to partners and customers.
• Travel approximately two weeks per month; home on weekends; provide hotel and per diem.
• Comply with safety, DOT, and company policies.

Job Summary

The Compliance Fuel Technician is responsible for testing, inspecting, and supporting fuel system compliance at retail, commercial, and private fueling facilities. This role performs fuel system integrity testing, documents results accurately and communicates findings and corrective actions clearly to internal teams and customers. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work and regular travel.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $18.00
• Overtime: 12–15 hours per week on average, paid at time and a half
• Per diem: $50.00 per day (paid weekly, not taxed)
• Company-paid travel, lodging, DOT physical, and drug screening

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude; experience with hand tools preferred
• Background in trades or industrial/commercial environments is a plus
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Comfortable using basic technology for reporting and documentation
• Physically able to lift 10–50 lbs and perform tasks such as kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing
• Must pass a company-paid DOT physical and drug screen
• Clean driving record required / valid drivers license
