Job summary

OWL Services seeks a Compliance Fuel Technician to perform fuel system integrity testing at retail, commercial, and private fueling facilities. You will prep sites, set up safety gear, access underground tanks, and drive a DOT-registered vehicle while conducting containment and leak-detection tests.

Travel is required 2–3 weeks per month with weekends at home; per diem and hotels provided. The role offers an $18 hourly rate with overtime and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background and comfort with hand tools.
• Independent worker with good communication skills.
• Experience in trades or industrial/commercial settings is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of documenting work processes.

Job description

Compliance Fuel Technician

Performs several duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing. Primarily completes petroleum support work orders and jobs at retail, commercial and private fueling facilities. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• To include but not limited to:
• Prepping the site for testing
• Setting up testing and safety equipment
• Removal of manhole lids for underground storage tank access
• Driving a DOT registered commercial motor vehicle
• Performs a variety of fuel containment tests, equipment integrity tests, and leak-detection tests to detect leaks or to prevent future leaks due to non-compliance or equipment failure.

Travel is expected in this role

Compliance Technicians are expected to travel 2-3 weeks per month, home on the weekends. (Hotels and a generous per diem is provided).

Hourly rate is $18.00, with an average of 12-15 hours of overtime per week paid at time and a half.

Per Diem: $50.00 per day and it goes directly into weekly paycheck, not taxed.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass a company paid DOT physical & drug screen and possess a clean driving record.

• Mechanical background, experience with hand tools, and trades or industrial/commercial settings are a plus.
• Physical capability: lifting 10-50lbs, kneeling, bending, handling, reaching, and standing.
• Independent work ability and effective communication skills.
• Basic technology knowledge for documentation.
