Job summary

OWL Services is seeking an Apprentice - Compliance Fuel Technician in Lakeland, FL. This full-time role pays $18.00 per hour and includes potential overtime opportunities. Travel is expected, with 2-3 weeks per month on the road and per diem support.

You’ll assist with testing at fueling sites, prep work, and safety equipment setup. Ideal candidates bring a mechanical background, comfort with hand tools, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Must pass company-paid DOT physical and drug screen.
• Possess a clean driving record.
• Mechanical background with hand tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepping the site for testing.

Apprentice - Compliance Fuel Technician

Salary Range: $18.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Compliance Fuel Technician

Performs several duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing. Primarily completes petroleum support work orders and jobs at retail, commercial and private fueling facilities. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• To include but not limited to:
• Prepping the site for testing
• Setting up testing and safety equipment
• Removal of manhole lids for underground storage tank access
• Driving a DOT registered commercial motor vehicle
• Performs a variety of fuel containment tests, equipment integrity tests, and leak-detection tests to detect leaks or to prevent future leaks due to non-compliance or equipment failure.

Travel is expected in this role. Compliance Technicians are expected to travel 2-3 weeks per month, home on the weekends. (Hotels and a generous per diem is provided).

Hourly rate is $18.00, with an average of 12-15 hours of overtime per week paid at time and a half.

Per Diem:$50.00 per day and it goes directly into weekly paycheck, not taxed.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass a company paid DOT physical & drug screen and possess a clean driving record.

• Mechanical background, experience with hand tools, and trades or industrial/commercial settings are a plus.
• Physical capability: lifting 10-50lbs, kneeling, bending, handling, reaching, and standing.
• Independent work ability and effective communication skills.
• Basic technology knowledge for documentation.
