Job summary

Seamen’s Society for Children and Families seeks a Compliance and Ethics Specialist to support regulatory components, risk assessments, and internal auditing to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse. You’ll work with leadership to develop policies, monitor compliance, and deliver targeted training within SSCF.

You will perform audits, investigate concerns, and coordinate corrective actions with the Compliance Committee, ensuring ethical operations across two NYC sites to protect children and families

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior Healthcare/Corporate Compliance experience.
  • Prior experience in a child welfare nonprofit is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint).
  • Travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn may be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement policies aligned with regulations.
  • Support an effective compliance program to prevent, detect and correct noncompliance.
  • Assist in improving efficiency and quality of services while reducing risk of fraud and abuse.
  • Develop and monitor a Compliance Work Plan and annual compliance activities.
  • Investigate complaints and determine corrective actions with agency leadership.
  • Provide quarterly performance reports on compliance program progress.
  • Deliver training programs to educate staff on compliance program elements.
