Job summary

Seamen’s Society for Children and Families in New York City seeks a Compliance and Ethics Specialist to support regulatory components and strengthen the agency’s compliance program. You will work under the Director of Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement – Compliance and Ethics Officer to implement controls, monitor risk, and coordinate investigations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, healthcare, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior Healthcare/Corporate Compliance experience a plus.
  • Experience in child welfare nonprofit environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of corporate compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
  • Develop, modify, and implement policies aligned with regulations.
  • Promote adherence to legal and ethical obligations to prevent noncompliance.
  • Improve efficiency and service quality while reducing fraud and abuse.
  • Lead or coordinate internal compliance reviews and reporting.
  • Investigate compliance and ethics complaints and collaborate on corrective actions.
  • Provide training on the elements of the compliance program and organizational standards.
  • Monitor reporting systems and encourage reporting without retaliation.
  • Prepare quarterly performance reports for leadership and the Board.
  • Participate in annual compliance planning and program evaluations.
