Job summary

AYM in South Ventura County, CA is seeking a Compliance Engineer to lead product compliance and certification efforts for advanced electronic drive and control systems. You will ensure products meet international regulatory standards such as UL, CE, and TUV, overseeing everything from design to market release.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in industrial electronics compliance, along with familiarity with relevant UL/IEC standards.

Compliance Engineer

South Ventura County, CA | $75,000 – $95,000 | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday

Join a well-established engineering company in South Ventura County developing advanced electronic drive and control systems. In this role you'll lead product compliance and certification efforts to ensure products meet international regulatory standards — UL, CE, and TUV — from design through market release.

What You'll Do

• Review BOMs, electrical schematics, and PCB layouts for agency compliance requirements
• Coordinate with third-party agencies and outside labs to meet certification timelines
• Perform testing including temperature, Hi-Pot, and EMC measurements; generate reports
• Travel to outside labs for certification testing as needed
• Review and maintain regulatory documentation

What You Bring

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field (AS + 10 years experience considered)
• 3+ years of experience in design, testing, or compliance of industrial electronics
• Familiarity with UL/IEC 61800-5-1, EN 61000-6, IEC 61508 or similar regulatory standards

Preferred

• Experience with servo drive design, certification, or testing
• Familiarity with UL/IEC 60601 for Medical Devices
• Knowledge of EMI suppression and high EMC design practices
• Electrical design background
