Job summary

NRP Group is seeking a Compliance Auditor to support the Director of Compliance by auditing files for state agencies and syndicators, and coordinating corrections. The role includes tracking due dates, reviewing Yardi uploads, and submitting weekly reports to sites for file uploads.

You will conduct on-site audits, review corrections with residents, and work with site teams to ensure timely Bond TIC submissions and annual owner reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in property management.
  • 2-5 years of property management experience with market rate and affordable housing communities.
  • Experience with property management software packages is required.
  • HCCP, CP3 or Qualifying Compliance designations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track and schedule syndicator due dates for first year file submission.
  • Review Yardi uploads weekly to track sites for completed files.
  • Submit weekly reporting to sites for file uploads.
  • Conduct site visits to assist with uploads.
  • Review syndicator corrections to determine what corrections need to be made and how to properly execute required corrections.
  • Conduct site visits to process required syndicator corrections, which will include contacting and completing information with residents.
  • Work with property office teams to obtain necessary corrections uncovered by auditors.
  • Provide weekly updates to VP of Operations and Compliance and Director of Compliance to show progress and anticipated completion information.
  • Bond TIC Submission Pull reporting on the 30th of each month to determine requirements.
  • Review Yardi uploads to pull Bond TIC.
  • Document to the site corrections needed prior to loan provider review.
  • Ensure that all Bond TICs are ready and submitted by the required deadline.
  • On-site Audits Stabilized portfolio: Perform on-site audits for stabilized sites that will be audited by state agency within the next 12 months.
  • Lease up sites: Perform on-site audits of lease up sites once they achieve 20-25% occupancy to ensure that files are processed and put away in the correct order.
  • Represent NRP during on-site audits with external agencies.
  • Complete all reporting to determine site needs based on outcome of site audits.
  • Work with the site to make sure that all required corrections are completed and the site is ready for third-party audits.
  • Communication with Compliance Staff Meet with the Compliance Trainer to discuss findings from site visits in order to identify training needs and make sure training the compliance team is providing is effective.
  • Meet regularly with the entire Compliance staff to review Syndicator findings to make sure that the Compliance team is processing files consistently with state/local requirements.
  • Lease Up Supportive Services Review supportive service requirements for the site.
  • Review sites plan regarding supportive services and ensure that a calendar has been created to ensure supportive services begin at or prior to 40% occupancy.
  • Enter and review all annual Owner reports into applicable State data bases.
  • Complete special projects as needed and assigned by Director of Compliance.

Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Auditor is responsible for auditing and preparing files to be sent to the State agencies and Syndicators.

Duties include obtaining corrections needed to satisfy audit findings from state agencies and syndicators.

Additional duties consistent with the overall position responsibility may be required as deemed necessary by the Compliance Director.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in property management

Experience: 2 - 5 years of property management experience with market rate and affordable housing communities

Technical Skills: Experience with property management software packages is required

Other Requirements: HCCP, CP3 or Qualifying Compliance designations preferred
