Job description

Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.

Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look athow we (and YOU) can make that happen .

We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most .

Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.

We're looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our growing Legal team and take full ownership of our compliance review program. You’ll be the go-to compliance expert—managing risk, verifying licensure, and keeping us aligned with healthcare and financial regulations as we continue to scale.

You’ll work directly with our General Counsel to ensure that the customers using our platform meet regulatory requirements, from licensure to HIPAA to AML standards. This is a high-impact role with real autonomy—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare, fintech, and policy.

As our first dedicated compliance hire, you'll be instrumental in scaling our national platform while keeping us ahead of evolving regulations. If you're passionate about building compliant solutions and have a keen eye for detail, we want to talk to you!

What you'll do here:

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Conduct thorough compliance reviews during merchant onboarding and perform ongoing monitoring to ensure continued adherence to legal requirements.
  • Healthcare Licensure Verification: Independently evaluate and verify that medspa customers offering healthcare services maintain valid state and federal licenses required for their scope of practice.
  • Legal Compliance Determinations: Apply regulatory knowledge to identify services that may violate applicable laws, regulations, or platform policies.
  • Customer Engagement and Resolution: Directly engage with customers offering non-compliant services, requiring strong communication skills to handle potentially challenging conversations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Customer Experience, and other departments to resolve compliance issues while maintaining positive business relationships.
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related escalations, requiring independent judgment in determining appropriate resolution paths.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current on healthcare compliance requirements, including changes to state and federal regulations affecting our customers' operations.
  • Compliance Process Development: Assist Legal in developing and implementing compliance frameworks that protect the company while supporting business objectives.
  • Regulatory Response Support: Provide documentation and expertise during audits or regulatory inquiries.

What you'll need to thrive:

  • 3+ years of experience in legal compliance, regulatory affairs, or related fields in healthcare, fintech, or payment processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in applying regulatory requirements to complex business situations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare licensing frameworks and regulations governing medical and aesthetic services.
  • Experience directly engaging with customers on compliance matters, including handling difficult conversations and resolving disputes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments, particularly with Sales and Customer Experience teams.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements and healthcare data security standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with skill in explaining complex regulatory requirements to non-legal audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare compliance, particularly in medical aesthetics or medspa operations.
  • Background working with payment processors, acquiring banks, or payment facilitators.
  • Familiarity with customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes.
  • Experience navigating regulatory challenges in high-risk industries.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL or Sigma.

How we’ll take care of you:
