Job summary

Mission Underwriters is seeking a compliance support professional to monitor AR/TII activities, perform file reviews, and produce management MI. The role emphasizes accuracy, reporting, and governance to strengthen regulatory alignment.

You will maintain the compliance policy suite, assist with complaints handling and horizon-scanning, and support the Enterprise Risk Management framework. Remote UK work is standard, with occasional in-office activity.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance, risk, audit or regulatory support.
• Insurance/financial services background preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of UK regulatory framework (FCA rules, SM&CR) is desirable.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly AR/TII monitoring and file review cycles.
• Carry out thematic reviews and file checks per guidelines.
• Produce compliance MI and reporting for management packs.
• Administer and maintain the compliance policy suite with version control.
• Assist with complaints handling, logging and root-cause analysis.
• Track regulatory events and horizon-scanning initiatives.
• Support risk management activities and maintenance of RCSAs.
• Escalate overdue risk actions to the Risk Manager.

Essential Function

• Support the monthly AR/TII monitoring and file review cycle across Mission’s Appointed Representatives and Tied Insurance Intermediaries.
• Carry out thematic reviews and file checks as directed by the Senior Compliance Manager.
• Produce compliance MI and reporting for management and Board/committee packs.
• Administer and maintain the compliance policy suite, including version control and review scheduling.
• Support complaints handling, logging, tracking and root-cause analysis.
• Support with logging, tracking and follow up on compliance events, such as breaches, conflicts, issues & incidences, etc.
• Maintain training & competence records and support delivery of compliance training.
• Assist with regulatory horizon-scanning and tracking upcoming requirements.
• Support the Enterprise Risk Management framework, including risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs) and risk register maintenance.
• Track risk actions and remediation plans to closure, escalating overdue items to the Risk Manager.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework (FCA rules, SM&CR, Consumer Duty); insurance or MGA sector exposure preferred.
• Strong MS Excel/Office skills, comfortable working with data to produce MI.
• High attention to detail and strong written communication.
• Able to manage a varied workload against multiple deadlines.

Experience

• Experience in a compliance, risk, audit or regulatory support role; insurance/financial services background preferred but not essential.

This is a remote position. Planned, in-office activities may be required on occasion (typically 2-4x per year).

You must live in the UK and be authorized to work in the UK without requirement of employment sponsorship/visa.
