Job Description - Complex Senior Sales Manager - Hilton Portland Downtown (HOT0BMOH)

The Complex Senior Sales Manager is responsible for securing groups and conventions by building and establishing relationships with customers. Hilton is looking for dynamic individuals who are well-rounded and business-minded.

The complex includes Hilton Portland Downtown and The Hilton Portland Hotel.

What will I be doing?

The sales office in a hotel is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and is a launching pad for those aspiring to grow their careers in hospitality. Responsibilities include:

  1. Research, solicit, and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing room revenue and meeting/exceeding lead generation goals.
  2. Represent the hotel in developing market segments and new customer relationships while maintaining existing accounts, aiming to maximize revenue and profitability across all hotel revenue streams.
  3. Develop business strategies by analyzing hotel and market trends, and implement marketing initiatives to capture maximum lead revenue.
  4. Demonstrate strong sales, communication, and networking skills; understand customer needs; and apply a disciplined approach to qualify, negotiate, and secure new revenue.
  5. Manage customer and accounts by creating value, differentiating Hilton from competitors, and bringing clear value to customers and their organizations.
  6. Identify potential customers through prospecting, prepare, and implement call strategies.
  7. Negotiate contracts and understand customer and business leader expectations, adapting to market changes.
Customer and Account Management

Engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Convention Bureau, and Intermediaries to retain existing customers and secure new business. Develop and execute plans for outside sales calls, industry tradeshows, and customer events. Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of business opportunities aligned with short- and long-term objectives. Represent the hotel in all customer interactions, including creating proposals and executing contracts. Conduct site inspections tailored to customer needs and coordinate specifications via the lead management system, entering and maintaining pertinent data accurately.

Prospecting

Research, solicit, and generate new leads through database research and proactive efforts to maximize revenue. Create plans to shift market share from competitors and engage in outside sales to uncover needs, build relationships, and win business.

Negotiations

Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers and intermediaries, providing solutions that meet hotel financial goals while strengthening customer relationships. Support the contracting process with Hilton Worldwide Sales and Legal when needed.
