Make a meaningful difference behind the scenes of patient care. Logan Health is seeking an experienced Scheduler to support our Hospital Infusion team. This role serves as an important connection between patients, clinical staff, referring offices, insurance companies, and other departments to help ensure infusion services are scheduled accurately and efficiently.
The Infusion Scheduler communicates with patients both in person and by phone and must be comfortable managing detailed scheduling needs, medical documentation, insurance requirements, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Location: Hospital Infusion, near Entrance A
Employment status: PRN/as needed
Department hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Advance scheduling may be available when covering planned vacations or other absences
Some shifts may be offered on short notice to help cover call-outs or unexpected department needs
No nights, evenings, weekends, or holidays
PRN hours are based on department needs and are not guaranteed.
As an Infusion Scheduler, you will:
Schedule and coordinate infusion appointments accurately and efficiently
Communicate with patients both in person and over the phone regarding appointments, scheduling instructions, and next steps
Coordinate with clinical teams, referring offices, insurance companies, and other departments
Review referrals, orders, authorizations, and supporting documentation to ensure scheduling requirements are met
Assist with insurance verification and prior authorization tracking
Maintain accurate patient and scheduling information within multiple electronic medical record systems
Process incoming and outgoing faxes and electronic documentation
Identify missing or incomplete information and follow up with the appropriate individuals or departments
Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
Prioritize multiple scheduling needs while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and excellent customer service
Provide backup scheduling and administrative support to the department as needed
Required
Minimum of two years of scheduling experience
Experience working with medical terminology
Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral processes
Ability to work within multiple electronic medical record systems
Ability to manage electronic and faxed documentation
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, tact, and discretion
Preferred
Previous oncology or infusion scheduling experience
Previous experience using Meditech
Familiarity with infusion-related terminology, workflows, orders, and treatment scheduling
The ideal candidate is an experienced medical scheduler who is comfortable working in a detailed, fast-moving healthcare environment. You are dependable, organized, and confident in communicating with patients and clinical teams. You understand that accurate scheduling, insurance coordination, and documentation are essential to helping patients receive timely care.
Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)
PRN employees typically work 0–19 hours per week. Hours may vary based on department needs, including staffing shortages, vacation coverage, and unexpected call-outs.
PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed.
