Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on large manufacturing equipment in our Mississippi facility. You will diagnose issues, replace worn parts, and document work performed to ensure reliable operation.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined with experience in reading schematics, maintaining records, and collaborating with department heads. A strong safety mindset and ability to work extended shifts are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reading schematics/blueprints to diagnose problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels.
  • Multilingual abilities preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-centric attitude and sense of urgency for maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and replacing belts as needed.
  • Identify root causes of breakdowns and repair to minimize downtime.
  • Record and report damaged or worn parts and install replacements.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed and maintain shop areas.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with department heads on new products or modifications requiring machinery changes.
  • Wear PPE and follow safety policies.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Maintenance Technician performs preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.).RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working conditionIdentify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machineRecord and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as neededPrepare reports documenting work performed.Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as neededCoordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be requiredMake necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as requiredIdentify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementationWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:None.
