A leading food processing company in Lindale, TX is seeking an Entry Level Maintenance Mechanic for 2nd Shift (12 PM – 10 PM). You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal operation. Complex Maintenance Mechanic - Tyler Hatchery 2nd Shift

SHIFT HOURS: 12 PM – 10 PM, Monday – Friday (On call every 3rd weekend)

PAY: $22.45 – $32.30 per hour

Benefits: Available Day One

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.) to ensure optimal operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, belt changes, and other necessary tasks.
  • Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns and repair promptly to reduce downtime.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, and order and install replacement parts as needed.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Collaborate with department heads on new product additions or modifications, making necessary adjustments and running test procedures.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, present to leadership, and participate in solution implementation.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all mandatory areas to promote a zero‑accident culture.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational certificate in an appropriate field (e.g., welding, maintenance, electrical) preferred.
  • Ability to take and pass internal required testing.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Mechanically inclined with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to enter work records in the appropriate system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling communication with all levels of the organization; multi‑lingual preferred.
  • Ability to handle and resolve most issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize projects, strong planning skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer‑centric attitude, high energy level, and a sense of urgency.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Wear required protective equipment in all mandatory areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work extended shifts (including holiday, weekend, or extended) as business needs require.
  • Work in cold, humid, hot, or dusty environments as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as necessary to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Vision sufficient for visual inspection of machines.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
