Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, and belt changes.
  • Identify root causes of unexpected breakdowns and repair to reduce downtime.
  • Record damaged, worn, or broken parts and order/install replacements.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Maintain shop areas, inventory, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Collaborate with department heads on product modifications and test runs.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and participate in implementations.
  • Wear PPE and follow safety policies; support zero-accident culture.
  • Work extended shifts as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.).RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working conditionIdentify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machineRecord and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as neededPrepare reports documenting work performed.Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as neededCoordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be requiredMake necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as requiredIdentify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementationWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:None.
