Overview

Responsible for providing expertise, analysis and solutions to complex billing related to but not limited to complex electric and gas standard billing, regulatory processes and technical problems with a focus on improving operational effectiveness and excellence. The Supervisor Complex Billing would oversee and lead a team with in-depth knowledge and understanding of complex billing processes, inclusive of multi meter billing, interval data, and the systems to support the tasks. Proactive monitoring is performed to identify potential concerns. #RIE #INDRIE #INDHP

Responsibilities

  1. Provide and lead a team analyzing solutions to complex billing associated with multi meters, interval data, EDI, EGS processes and technical problems
  2. Enhance understanding of “end-to-end” metering, rates, and billing processes among team members
  3. Review and create detailed documentation of business processes and system usage, including manual calculations to validate billing determinants; develop contingency plans for complex G-32, B-32 accounts
  4. Monitor and analyze system control reports to determine root causes and resolutions
  5. Implement new controls to improve billing accuracy and efficiency
  6. Support Billing Regulatory Projects as directed
  7. Develop training materials and advise team members
  8. Perform account data repairs to facilitate customer billings
  9. Maintain effective relationships with internal customers and other billing specialists
  10. Prepare and deliver testimony for regulatory proceedings, if applicable
  11. Investigate and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers such as Call Center, Business Accounts, and Suppliers
  12. Identify opportunities to leverage information technology for process improvements
  13. Define requirements, prepare process flows, test, and implement billing system and process changes
  14. Implement regulatory and business process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs
  15. Assist with business case development
  16. Prepare clear, concise communications for stakeholders
  17. Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations
  18. Establish and maintain relationships across departments and with regulatory agencies
  19. May be assigned to Electric Utilities emergency and storm response roles, requiring after-hours work during storms or emergencies

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Broad knowledge of customer service systems, billing, rates, suppliers, and metering
  • Broad knowledge of regulatory rules
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Training skills for educating team members of varying levels
