Job summary

Gulfstream is seeking an experienced electrical systems engineer to support design, integration, and maintenance of aircraft avionics, lighting, and entertainment systems. You will lead system-level wire diagram efforts, develop CAD designs, and provide technical recommendations to keep projects on schedule.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Engineering, 18 months of related experience, and familiarity with CHS/XC, AutoCAD, and CATIA V5. This on-site role is based in Savannah, GA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 18 months of related engineering experience.
• Experience with CHS/XC, AutoCAD, or similar 2D electrical design software preferred.
• Awareness of system-level wire diagram/schematic design for aircraft.
• Experience with electrical system integration for aircraft avionics, lighting, and entertainment systems.
• Ability to develop or decipher technical and test specifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Job description

• Perform engineering work related to investigating and solving technical problems associated with research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft
• Design and develop new and derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities for new, custom, and in-service aircraft
• Provide system-level wire diagram and schematic design support for aircraft
• Perform electrical system integration related to aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems
• Make technical decisions and provide recommendations
• Apply design standards and accepted design methods to meet manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements
• Solve typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline
• Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to project milestones
• Take responsibility for a complex engineering assignment or a less-complex full project
• Follow established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments
• Obtain supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy
• Apply company and organization policies and procedures
• Improve daily processes and ensure work meets customer requirements
• Maintain current knowledge of technical principles, theories, concepts, developments, and applications in the assigned field
• Coordinate activities for lower-level engineering staff with supervision or mentorship
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
• 18 months of related Engineering experience
• Experience credit for related advanced degrees, limited to 2 years for Master's and 4 years for PhD in a field applicable to the job position
• Awareness of system-level wire diagram/schematic design for aircraft
• Experience in electrical system integration related to aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems
• Experience with Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCAD, or similar 2D electrical design software preferred
• Ability to develop or decipher technical and test specifications
• Knowledge of CATIA V5
• Familiarity with aircraft STC procedures preferred
• Ability to make technical decisions and provide recommendations demonstrating leadership authority
• Ability to employ design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods
• Ability to determine improved methods to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to work in Savannah, Georgia, United States
