Job summary

Devon is seeking a Compensation Manager to design, implement, and administer base salary, short- and long-term incentive programs that align with business goals. The role partners with HR leadership, finance and business leaders to provide strategic compensation guidance and ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.

Responsibilities include market pricing, salary surveys, job architecture, and managing compensation platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in employee and executive compensation, preferably in oil and gas.
  • WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional or SHRM Certified Professional preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Excellent time management and communication with all organizational levels.

This role oversees market analysis, salary structures, incentive programs, and compensation policies to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations. The Compensation Manager partners closely with HR leadership, finance, and business leaders to provide strategic compensation guidance and recommendations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and execute equitable base salary, short and long-term compensationprograms that drive overall business strategies, objectives, and resultsPartner with business leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Identify opportunitiesto strengthen programs and their linkage to business resultsFunction as subject matter expert and advisor for HR Business Partners and businessleadership on all compensation related mattersModeling, statistical analysis and costing of base, incentive, and stock programs for guidancein impactful distribution of rewards. Provide recommendations to leadership.Direct, coordinate and ensure successful execution of compensation programs including,base pay structure, merit, salary adjustments, promotions, market data/salary surveysubmission, short-term incentives, and long-term incentivesConduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses to evaluate external competitiveness andinternal equity. Participate in industry leading salary surveys and monitor salary survey datato ensure compensation objectives are achievedResponsible for the administration and oversight over technology platforms and vendors tosupport compensation planningProvide support to the Director of Total Rewards in the development of materials for theCompensation CommitteeDesign and maintain salary structures, job architecture, and compensation frameworksExperience and Education:Bachelor’s degree; degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred8+ year’s experience in employee and executive compensation field, preferably in the oiland gas industrySkills and Qualifications:WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional or SHRM Certified Professional preferredSubstantial business acumen, including an understanding of the drivers of success in theexploration and production businessComprehensive understanding of the link between compensation and business strategiesStrong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate dataAbility to engage, inspire and influence peopleEffective team playerStrong interpersonal, communication and client-support skills, including presentations togroups.Ability to cater communications to all levels of the organizationExcellent time management skills and ability to plan and set prioritiesProficient with MS Office, Payfactors, and HRIS systemsKnowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related tobase and incentive compensatioQualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, status as a protected veteran or other characteristics protected by law.
