Job summary

FMI is seeking a highly motivated professional to join its Compensation & Rewards team. You will apply quantitative methods to benchmark compensation, design salary structures, and deliver data-driven insights to a diverse client base, including Fortune 500 construction contractors and environmental engineering firms.

This full-time, remote-capable role emphasizes collaboration within a team, client communication, and the continuous refinement of analytical tools and processes to help clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional consulting experience in compensation, total rewards, or related advisory environment.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting compensation benchmarking analyses using multiple survey sources.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Tableau or other analytical tools.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market pricing methodologies, and US employee compensation practices.
  • CCP designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in compensation consulting engagements from project kick-off through final report development and presentation.
  • Conduct market benchmarking analyses utilizing compensation surveys and market data sources.
  • Coordinate within internal project teams to evaluate job roles, develop salary structures, and refine compensation programs.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and data insights using Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate technical concepts and data-driven findings and recommendations.
  • Organize and prioritize assignments to meet scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FMI's compensation tools, methodologies, and processes.
  • Build relationships with clients and FMI colleagues; provide guidance to junior team members.

FMI is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong quantitative skills to join its growing Compensation & Rewards team. FMI's professionals are industry insiders who understand the operating environment, challenges, and opportunities of their clients, helping them discover value drivers, build resilient teams, streamline operations, and grow with confidence.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and apply analytical and consulting expertise in compensation while directly contributing to the continuous enhancement of client services. Operating within a team-oriented consulting model, this position plays a key role in delivering data-driven insights to a diverse client base—including Fortune 500 construction contractors and emerging environmental engineering firms.

This is a full-time position that can be remote, with preference given to candidates located near FMI's Tampa, FL, Raleigh, NC or Denver, CO offices.

  • Coordinate within internal project teams to evaluate job roles and career paths, develop salary structures, design incentive plans, and refine compensation-related programs to meet clients’ objectives.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and data insights utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, AI-enabled technologies, and other data visualization and analysis tools.
  • Attend client meetings and confidently communicate technical concepts and data-driven findings and recommendations.
  • Organize and prioritize assignments to ensure work is completed within established scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FMI Compensation & Rewards analytical tools, methodologies, and internal processes.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues across FMI.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • 4 + years of professional consulting experience in compensation, total rewards, or a related advisory environment.
  • 3 + years of experience conducting compensation benchmarking analyses using multiple compensation survey sources.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Tableau or other analytical tools.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market pricing methodologies, and employee compensation practices in the United States.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
