Job description

Who We Are

Nuro believes self-driving vehicles are the most immediate and profound opportunity for AI to drive positive change in the physical world. Safer streets, more time for what matters, and easier access to the world around us, that's why we're building a universal autonomy platform: self-driving for all roads and all rides.
Founded in 2016, Nuro is a physical AI company developing Level 4 autonomous driving technology for a wide range of vehicles, use cases, and markets. Powered by the Nuro Driver, our universal autonomy platform enables the global mobility ecosystem to deploy autonomy at scale, from robotaxis and logistics fleets to personal vehicles.
With years of real-world deployment experience and a flexible, partner-led business model, Nuro is working toward a future where millions of autonomous vehicles powered by our technology help make everyday life safer, easier, and more connected.
Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Uber, NVIDIA, Google, SoftBank, Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, and other leading investors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Compensation and Benefits Analyst to support Nuro's total rewards programs across the company. This role will both help ensure our benefits programs are competitive, accurate scalable, and aligned with the needs of the business, as well as support ad hoc compensation requests and support the Senior Manager of Total Rewards in day-to-day compensation-related workflows.

As a key member of the People team, you will support benefits administration, open enrollment, benefit review and selection, leave of absence administration, compensation analysis, recruiting offer support, and ongoing program audits.

You will work closely with the Total Rewards leader, Recruiting, HRBPs, People Operations, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders to provide data, analysis, and operational support across core rewards programs. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with data, understands the importance of accuracy and confidentiality, and can balance analytical work with employee-facing support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, practical, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where high-quality execution matters.

About the Work
  • Support compensation modeling, market pricing, salary range development, offer analysis, and pay decision support for Recruiting, HRBPs, Finance, and Technology Group and Business Group leaders.
  • Optimize benefits administration processes, audit enrollments, invoice reconciliation, and compliance documentation to cut manual effort and reduce friction for employees.
  • Support benefits processes and policies, including open enrollment and benefit offerings for employees working abroad.
  • Identify and build automation for recurring benefits operations, including eligibility checks, leave tracking, vendor coordination, and employee communications.
  • Support key compensation cycles, including merit, bonus, equity refresh, promotions, and off-cycle adjustments.
  • Build reports and analyses that help identify pay trends, internal equity considerations, market competitiveness, and compensation program needs.
  • Maintain accurate compensation and benefits data through audits, reporting, documentation, and system updates.
  • Improve Total Rewards processes through cleaner data, stronger documentation, scalable workflows, and thoughtful use of AI-enabled tools.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of compensation and benefits experience in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills with advanced Excel or Google Sheets usage, including formulas, modeling, pivot tables, and large datasets.
  • Experience supporting compensation work such as market pricing, salary ranges, offers, merit, bonus, equity, or leveling.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration, employee inquiries, open enrollment, vendor coordination, invoice reconciliation, or audits.
  • High attention to detail, strong judgment, and discretion when working with confidential employee and company data.
  • Clear communicator who has experience explaining compensation and benefits topics to employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.
Bonus Points
  • Experience supporting global benefits and compensation programs.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and interest in applying them thoughtfully to improve TR effectiveness, while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate judgment.
  • Experience with compensation survey tools or market data providers such as Radford, Mercer, Pave, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Workday or another modern HRIS.
  • Experience supporting equity compensation, RSU planning, or compensation planning systems.
  • Experience in a technology company or high-growth, start-up environment.
  • Certified Compensation Professional, SHRM certification, or similar HR /rewards certification.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $99,220 and $149,330 for the level at which this job has been scoped.
