Job summary

Claws and Paws Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to support our veterinary team in delivering exceptional care to animal patients and a positive client experience.

You will assist with animal handling, exam room prep, medical procedure support, radiography, sample labeling, and maintaining a clean, organized clinic while educating clients on care and preventive steps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting.
• Strong animal handling and ability to work with multiple species.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely.
• Basic veterinary terminology and procedures understanding.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry animals and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
• Disinfect surfaces, sanitize equipment, and clean kennels and cages.
• Prepare examination rooms for appointments and keep them stocked.
• Greet and assist clients to ensure a welcoming visit.
• Escort clients and pets to exam rooms and collect medical history.
• Support during procedures by setting up equipment and monitoring animals.
• Prepare and label laboratory samples accurately.
• Assist with radiography by positioning animals and operating equipment.
• Educate clients on medications, preventive care, and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate records of care and treatments.
• Assist with inventory and storage organization.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
