Job summary

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking a veterinary assistant to be the primary support for the team. You will help with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and assist in after-surgery care to ensure excellent client and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, restraining animals during procedures, assisting with diagnostics, sterilizing equipment, and helping with daily kennel and treatment area upkeep. A positive, team-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle them when stressed, ill or in pain.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Ability to meet physical demands: lift up to 40 lbs (assistance available).
• Walks or stands for extended periods; often in bent/squatting position.
• Team-oriented and works well with all hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid in post-surgical care.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Aid routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal tests).
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/equipment.
