Aspetuck Animal Hospital in New Preston, CT is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary team. You will work with a highly trained staff using state-of-the-art training facilities and cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities include compassionate patient care, accurate medical records, exam room preparation, physical assessments, client education on costs and home care, inventory stocking, and surgical prep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior veterinary hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones.
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Perform physical assessments and record observations.
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Explain follow-up and home care instructions.
• Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms; inform inventory manager when supplies need ordering.
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room stocked and prepared for surgery.
