Groton City Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinary assistant to join our care team. You will support veterinarians and technicians across exams, surgeries, radiography, and diagnostics, ensuring compassionate patient care and accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing compassionate patient care in a veterinary setting.
• Ability to obtain and record patient histories and vital signs accurately.
• Comfort with restraining dogs and cats safely under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, and efficient patient care.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and record accurate patient histories and vital signs.
• Handle and restrain dogs and cats safely.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples and perform in-house tests.
• Assist with radiographs, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures; monitor anesthesia recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and dispense medications per hospital protocols.
• Educate clients about medications, nutrition, and preventative care.
