PetVet Care Centers’ Picayune Veterinary Clinic is seeking Veterinary Assistants to join the team. You will support veterinarians and technicians with clinical tasks, maintain equipment and records, and provide compassionate care to patients and clients in Picayune, Mississippi.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Must have previous veterinary experience

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, measure weight and vital signs on arrival
• Triage, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications or restraints
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and systems
• Fill prescriptions and maintain medication records
• Feed patients and monitor appetites, report any concerns
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and medicinal plans
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and proper sanitation
• Bath and groom patients staying overnight before release
• Adhere to safety and wellness regulations
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Show up for full-time shifts and reliability
• Promote hospital products and services
• Respond to directions from DVM or LVT promptly
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
