PetVet Care Centers’ Eastham Veterinary Hospital in Eastham, Massachusetts, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join the team. You will support veterinarians and technicians by cleaning and maintaining equipment, restraining and handling patients, feeding, exercising, and grooming, and assisting with clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Must have previous Veterinary Technician/Assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, record weight and vital signs
• Triage patients and assist with examinations, treatments, and medications
• Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and clean facilities
• Fill prescriptions and maintain proper documentation of medications and controlled substances
• Communicate with clients and educate about insurance and wellness plans
• Ensure daily cleanliness and sanitation of hospital areas
• Bath and groom patients staying overnight
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Promote hospital products and services
• Carry out directions from DVM or LVT and perform other duties as assigned
