Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Colorado is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians and ensure the safety and welfare of pets and clients.

In this role you will use daily clinical skills, educate clients on preventive care, and help maintain a smooth flow of patients while adhering to NAVTA guidelines and state practice acts. Banfield offers learning opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent required knowledge and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, efficient service ensuring client and pet comfort.
• Use technical skills daily within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant duties.
• Maintain flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.

Education

NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent
