Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Veterinary Technician Assistant experience or higher is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and their owners, weigh patients and record vital signs.
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, pumps, scales, monitors).
• Fill prescriptions and maintain documentation for controlled drugs.
• Feed and monitor patient appetites and report abnormalities.
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and medical plans.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and proper chemical handling.
• Bath and groom patients staying overnight and ensure proper release grooming.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to safety regulations.

Skills

Veterinary tech experience

Education

LVT certification preferred (not required)
