Vickery Place Animal Hospital in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant who can provide daily care, feeding, and monitoring for boarding pets while supporting our veterinary team. You will help technicians during exams and procedures and maintain clean treatment and surgery areas.

The role requires strong communication with clients and staff and the ability to thrive in a technician-led, team-oriented environment with proper safety and sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 1 year of veterinary medicine experience.
• Must communicate effectively with clients, visitors, veterinarians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, feeding, and monitoring for hospitalized and boarding pets.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain animals and support a technician-led, team-oriented workflow.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment, exam, and surgery areas.
• Take and schedule appointments and gather accurate patient histories.
• Perform basic diagnostics, monitor anesthesia, and assist with dental cleanings.
• Conduct diagnostic imaging, including radiographs.
• Follow proper sanitation, handling, and patient-care protocols.
