Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a part-time Van Driver to support residents at Dubuque Specialty Care. You will safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and events, and assist with boarding and wheelchair securement.

Responsibilities include sticking to schedules, reporting concerns to nursing staff, maintaining a tidy vehicle, and coordinating maintenance. The role offers weekend opportunities and competitive pay with benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License with Class D - Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to accomplish.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
