Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a compassionate Van Driver to safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events. You will assist with boarding, secure wheelchairs, and maintain clean, reliable vehicle operations across our nursing and living communities.

The role requires a valid Class D Chauffeur Endorsement, a clean driving record, and a willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid; weekend availability is preferred. Care Initiatives offers competitive pay and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Age 21 years or older and eligible to drive a passenger vehicle.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No more than 2 traffic violations in the last 3 years.
• No DUI convictions.
• CPR and/ or First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilités

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
