Compassionate Van Driver – Community Transport

Job summary

Little City is seeking a Van Driver in Grayslake, IL to provide door-to-door transportation for participants. You will operate agency vehicles safely, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate transportation logs while upholding confidentiality and participant rights.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and a good driving record. Prior experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid Illinois driver's license required.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities desired.
• Clean driving record per Illinois SOS/MVR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport participants to scheduled locations.
• Assist participants with entry/exit from the vehicle.
• Maintain transportation logs and records per policy.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks.
• Report safety or mechanical issues promptly to supervisor.
• Keep interior and exterior of vehicles clean.
• Follow safety regulations and Little City policies.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Attend required staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
