Job summary

Smith County Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to appointments and assist them in and out of the vehicle, ensuring comfort throughout the trip.

This role emphasizes compassionate, patient care, clear communication, and the ability to work with nursing staff to support residents’ well-being. A current CNA license is preferred and CPR certification is required; a valid Tennessee driver’s license with a clean record is essential.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations/entries in MR).
• Good communication in English, both written and verbal, to coordinate with residents, families and healthcare partners.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and schedule doctors’ appointments for residents.
• Arrange transportation to appointments, events and outings as needed.
• Notify families about appointment logistics.
• Perform clerical tasks including transfers and discharges.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and meal consumption as assigned.
• Use proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
