Job summary

Interfaith Community Services in Escondido, CA is seeking a Transportation Specialist to provide safe, reliable client transport for medical appointments and program activities. You will support clients with mobility and schedule routes, while maintaining records and ensuring safety.

The role requires a CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and relevant certifications. The position offers full-time hours, onsite work, and a comprehensive benefits package including insurance and retirement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid CA Driver’s License, required.
• Must maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• CPR, BLS and First Aid certificates to be completed within three months.
• Minimum 1 year experience with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers on and off vehicles, including those with mobility limitations.
• Safely secure wheelchairs and mobility devices and assist entering/exiting vehicles.
• Ensure clients safely reach medical facilities or destinations and depart appropriately.
• Maintain transportation calendars and schedule routes for timely appointments.
• Communicate with clients and staff about changes and keep records of mileage and transport data.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety standards.
