Job summary

Ayden Healthcare of Oregon and Toledo is seeking a Transportation Driver to support our Skilled Nursing Facility residents. This role requires safe, compassionate transport to appointments, outings, and other activities, with a focus on dignity and comfort.

You will operate a facility van, assist residents with entering and exiting, secure wheelchairs, and coordinate with nursing staff to meet schedules while following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Preference for STNA candidates.
• Experience driving a passenger van or medical transport.
• Experience with elderly or healthcare populations preferred.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices (or willingness to train).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and assist residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and community outings.
• Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable.
• Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints.
• Maintain timely pick-up and drop-off schedules.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs and schedules.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Provide courteous, respectful interaction with residents, families, and staff.
