Job summary

City of Evansville, via METS Mobility, is seeking a bus driver to transport passengers on fixed routes and mobility services. The role involves safe operation of transit vehicles, daily inspections, fare collection, and timely pickups and drop-offs.

The ideal candidate holds a CDL Class B with air brake and passenger endorsements, has a high school diploma or equivalent, and can maintain composure in busy conditions while assisting elderly and disabled riders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class B with air brake and public passenger endorsements.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required checks.

Responsibilities

• Operates Mobility vans under supervision of Mobility Project Manager and/or Dispatchers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and collect fares.
• Complete assigned pick-ups and drop-offs in a safe and timely manner.
• Drive buses to downtown departure point and along route for passenger service.
• Assist passengers with fare collection and provide information.
• Train new employees as necessary and relay information to mechanics or supervisors.
