Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician at Clifton Springs Hospital. This role supports the Med/Surg department in providing direct and indirect patient care, under a licensed RN, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

The position requires 18+ years old, CNA/assistance experience preferred, and emphasizes teamwork, excellent communication, and patient-family support in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Preferred CNA certification or Nursing Fundamentals, or experience as a medical assistant/technician.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care & indirect activities to facilitate unit functioning.
• Participate as a member of the care delivery team.
• Provide safe, competent care for patients regarding nutrition, skin integrity, elimination, and hygiene including bathing and changing bed linens.
• Record and monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pain level).
• Demonstrate communication, compassion, and support for patients and families.
• Model teamwork within the care delivery team.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, transferring or lifting of patients.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• May perform clerical duties including transcription and maintenance of patient charts.
• Assist patient mobility such as sitting, standing, and walking.
• Cath lab: stock rooms and handle meds, sharps and syringes on the OR field if applicable.
