Job summary

Liner Legal in Cleveland, OH is seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Hearing Paralegal to support SSDI and SSI claims at Initial and Reconsideration levels. You will gather evidence, communicate with clients and SSA, and prepare filings under tight deadlines.

The role requires managing a high-volume caseload, reviewing medical records and employment history, and collaborating with attorneys and staff to move cases toward hearing.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• 1–2 years of SSDI/SSI claims experience, particularly at Initial/Reconsideration levels.
• Strong understanding of SSA regulations and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for a large caseload during Initial and Reconsideration phases.
• Assist clients in completing Social Security forms and documentation.
• Obtain and review medical records, employment history, and other relevant evidence.
• Monitor deadlines and maintain case calendar for timely filings.
• Communicate with SSA field offices and Disability Determination Services (DDS).
• Maintain detailed case notes in the firm’s case management system.
• Provide compassionate and professional support to clients navigating complex situations.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff for smooth case progression.
• Ability to use multiple software applications efficiently.
